Cold Weather Agility “Practice”

Proof my friends and I are crazy: early this January, me and Karolyn were so agility-deprived that we dragged our dogs out on a day when it was freezing, pouring rain, and the park was slushy as heck. We spent most of our time setting up and welcoming a new friend to the mix. By the time we got our makeshift mini course ready and began “practicing,” we realized it was pretty much too slippery, rainy and cold out for our dogs to work on the equiptment safely! At least we got a good little workout setting up and taking down our course!

I suggested to Miles that he hang out in the tunnel to avoid the rain — he liked the idea!

    Emma,
Oh, my… that does sound desperate…. and miserable. Cold and wet is “the worst”. Hoping you guys will have warmer, nicer weather SOON.

Hi Darcy! Yes it was desperate indeed… I picked up a sandwich on my way home, bathed me and Miles, and bundled up. Thats one thing we really have to boast about on the Westcoast… There is nothing like wet cold! I hope we all get spring soon! Hows it where you are?

Not as bad as you have, for sure! It’s been normally cold, averagely wet, and mediumly snowy. Perfectly unremarkable winter. In February we set a record for a 70 degree day.. marwest ever in Boston… nice. We have Spring bulbs poking up, and maple syrup running… not bad, but I look forward to warmer weather…

Go Emma and friends! We have to do it in the snow here! Susan, Nacho & Indie.

Yes indeed you do! Do you practice or trial on actual snow? Stay tuned for a post about our winter agility — we traveled in a blizzard to do a trial! There was snow in the corners of the barn, but not the actual floor 😉

That doesn’t sound very enjoyable, but they sure look cute! Miles is looking very youthful in these photos! Hopefully spring will come before too long.

Do you think its his ears? I let them grow wild this winter to stay warm. Finally stripped them a few weeks ago.

Miles, what a trooper. Very handsome boy. Shawna, Rocky, (10) and Snickers (9) Two

Is that the Frazier River in Vancouver?

Hi Shawna! Give Rocky & Snickers some treats for me and Miles! ? You were right about the park being in Vancouver, but it is the Burrard inlet. The mountains you can see are the North Shore Mountains. 🙂
