Not far away on a quiet hiking trail bridge, a dog was also enjoying nature. His powerful little nose had located the former site of an exquisite, albeit microscopic bit of unrecognizable bile or excrement, which had been washed away 4 days prior by warm summer showers. All that lingered was the intoxicating scent, which set the stage for one prolonged moment of bliss.
Stunning photos! You do a great job with Miles’ paw pads. How do you trim them so thoroughly? Bailey’s hair there grows so fast I can’t keep up! LOL
Glad you like the photographs Gail! The only part of Miles’ coat that I trim is between his paw pads, especially since we go places that have a lot of sap. I’ve been using these mini clippers forever. They are PERFECT for this purpose and cut ultra-close without any issues. I probably do Miles’ feet once a month. 🙂
Great observations. Exquisite photos. Bath time for Miles. 💩😊
In Miles’ whole life, he has never come away from rolling smelling bad at all. He seems to prefer scents that are undetectable to the human nose!
Oh Emma! I did not want the story to end so quickly. Please do more stories I love them. Myles is delightful. The photo’s capture pure Welsh happiness. Thank you. Much love Sharon
Aww thank you Sharon! I am so happy to bring you joy! ❤️
You set the story up perfectly! I laughed and enjoyed Miles’ moment of bliss a lot! Photos are fabulous.
There is something about moments frozen in time that can make them even funnier to re-live than when they happened!
Beautiful pictures. You captured the moments so well. I thoroughly enjoyed!
Thank you Judi! I am so glad we have our dogs to bring us so much joy!
OMG Miles is hysterical! Your photo sequence story is amazing. Photo journaling is your calling! Exquisite pictures! I’d love to have the whole Miles blissful moments framed and lined up in my hallway. I’d never get tired of looking at his sweet antics! Really Emma, your photos are MY moment of bliss!
Love you always,
Darcy and Sally
Thank you Darcy!! I have been working at it all of my life, and I love it so much. I also always try to work on my arm strength carrying around a heavy camera on long hikes! Your words mean the world to me…
Miles was as always wonderful to see, now in his total bliss. His zest for life lifts my weary heart. Often in these trying times we lose focus on what truly matters. You have a unique knack in roping us back into peace, tranquility, and now bliss. Thanks to you two for sharing what is important.
This comment really touches me Kim. I am so glad to help be a part of making people feel better. Well ultimately it all goes back to the wild animal that pooped on a hiking trail bridge… Who would’ve know it would provide us with so much happiness!
Great pictures Emma. Miles was really enjoying himself. Miss seeing you guys.
I miss you so much too Gwen, how nice to hear from you! I am honored you enjoyed the pictures!
Beautiful! It’s photos like this that only reaffirm why we love these little terriers so much.
Thank you Jean!!
This is the best thing I have seen in ages! I love their joy when they’re rolling on something. Oliver chooses to roll on dead worms, which doesn’t smell very nice at all!!
That means so much coming from someone as creative as yourself! Dead worms, wow! For some reason the things Miles rolls in never smell. I am amazed at the power of the canine olfactory system!
Wow, awesome photography! We do love to see Miles — and bliss is the right word for it.
You shame me once again. If Stella was off leash, the final picture would be a poster offering a reward for a missing dog. (Time for more lessons.)
Thank you Bob for your lovely words, and for giving me a good laugh!! Anytime for Miss Stella.
Such beautiful photographs and wonderful narration. Thank you for sharing. Memories of adventures like this are like are like treasure to be enjoyed over and over again.
I couldn’t agree more, Elise! I love reliving them almost as much as the original moment!
