In the winter of 2019 no one knew what would come in 2020. All I knew last November was that I was recovering from being sick for months (which now seems very trivial), there was one little trial left, and Miles was close to achieving his Lifetime Achievement Award. I considered waiting until 2020 because the last trial of 2019 was going to be very small and very cold. A few friends told me “you never know what will happen, you need to go for it now!” Were they ever right, and I am so glad I listened. Even though the trial was small and cold, the group of friends and the celebration that evening were anything but.
I hope you enjoy the following video! Please share some virtual celebratory chocolate mousse with me while you watch it (and some of Miles’ freshly cooked meat for any dog friends watching)!
Congratulations to you and Miles! Your energy, dedication, and perseverance have always amazed me. You have shown what amazing things can be achieved and what this wonderful breed is capable of.
Thank you Jeannette! Your words mean a lot to me. They are such different and smart dogs.
Congratulations Emma and Miles! Happy for you both!
You will always be a winner with Grady and our family!
Thank you Barbara!
I just love watching you and Miles perform. He seems to have such a lively happy spirit and love his work. Congratulations to both of you.
Thank you Kimberley! I like proving that a dog like Miles who wouldn’t make eye contact for the first few months and was wild as could be can retain the wild but crave working! I appreciate your kind words.
Sally and I watched the video over and over… then we had treats while watching it one more time! I cheered so loudly and Sally howled and barked. I can not even say in words how very proud I am of both of you… following your journey has been one of the most uplifting things of my life. I just love you both and consider myself privileged to have been on this trip with you from the beginning.
So much love to you Emma and Miles! From Sally and Darcy❣️
I need to get videos of Welsh Terriers watching other Welsh Terriers — haha! Miles has a Smooth Fox Terrier friend who will chase him around the agility course and he doesn’t mind a bit — so he would send an open invite to Sally, if only he knew she was interested! I am grateful I met you through this blog, grateful for your support, and so honored to be a part of your life!
You are both ROCKSTARS! Good job Emma and Miles!!!
Thank you Mary Anne! I have considered getting Miles a more edgy collar with those pyramid studs on it. Maybe he has earned it now!
Dear Emma and Miles,
I loved re watching your final Master Standard and am so glad I was there to see it in person. A wonderful achievement . I remember trialing with you in the very beginning so many years ago. You have worked so hard – you and Miles deserve every bit of this Lifetime Achievement Award. Way to go.
Dear Brenda! Thank you for the thoughtful comment, it is really emotional to read it. We grew up together in agility! I watch you now and am in awe of your handling. I can’t wait to toast you in the future for Lifetime! 🙂
It was a very special day, you could hear a pin drop when you were running as we all waited in anticipation.
The one time it is silent not from awkwardness!!! One time Miles and I had this great run, I was feeling so proud of myself for remembering the course. Then as I went to get Miles’ leash, it remained quiet. I turned to face the people watching, and everyone starts nodding their heads oddly and silently. I couldn’t figure it out! Turns out I’d walked the course without the last jump and there was still a chance to notice… I could not figure out what they were being so weird about. Ha!
I am honored to be your friend. I hope we can team up in 2021!!! 👯
Emma you are awesome!!! Wow is that video impressive! Miles wants to please you and knows exactly what you want him to do. I had tears in my eyes watching you two!
Awww thanks Donna! You will have to show Finn! Virtual hugs to you, thank you so much for your kindness and support.
Well done Miles! 😊
Thank you so much Marilyn!
So much fun to watch, and enjoy, and watch again, Emma. I look forward to training with you’ll and under your guidance (+spell!).
Aww thank you Casey! I am so glad you enjoyed it and looking forward to working with you too!

Hehe, thanks Denise and G & G Music Factory!
Sorry I’m late to this party!! Whoot! Whoot! This is SUCH exciting news, no matter that it happened last year, lol! I’m so glad you went for it then, because look what happened!
Anyway, you continue to astound me. I love you guys to bits and am so proud of you. The video of Miles’ POV is so adorable – he’s soaking it up every bit as much as you! Well done x 1000!!!!
Hi Danielle, it happened a year ago, so I am the one late to our own party, lol! No kidding — we could’ve waited forever! I love the footage of Milesy too! We love you too to bits!!
