Trick or Treat!

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love candy, dressing up, anything and everything creepy and crawly, and I am a big fan of scary movies. I also love the Northwest Coast in October. The ground becomes covered with leaves, it is chilly out (but not cold), and best of all, the air transforms into a thick layer of fog. It isn’t the best weather for driving, but it is dramatic and atmospheric. If you’ve seen Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, that scenery is basically daily life in the Northwest Coast in October. Minus the headless horseman. Anyway, while I am too old to enjoy trick-or-treat-ing, thankfully, Miles is not. And we have some really cool toys to show you this year, courtesy of Kyjen.

This toy is a Bottle Buddy — meaning it is made up of a machine-washable shell that velcros shut around an empty water bottle. Dogs love chewing on bottles, because they are crunchy. Recently Kyjen put a new feature on these popular toys — they added a squeaking device in the place of a bottle lid — so when crinkled, the bottle also squeaks! I bought Miles a Bottle Buddy when he was a teething puppy, and it was the perfect teething toy.

The mummy is from Kyjen’s Invincibles line. These toys are for tough chewing dogs that love squeaking toys. The special squeakers inside keep squeaking even after being punctured. Like the Bottle Buddy toys, they are extremely durable and do not contain any stuffing.

These cute toys are from Kyjen’s Tuff Ones line. They are virtually indestructable squeaking fabric toys. They are double stitched for durability, and great for playing fetch. I put ours in the wash when they get dirty.

{  Kyjen is currently having a 25% off sale on ALL of their Halloween dog toys. Go to their shop or amazon.com to check out the “treats”  }
